When you started to live and love the lifestyle of minimalism you will discover different tips and tricks to make things work, on which I called hacks. With that, I can see myself having more time to do what is important and what isn’t. Sometimes when we used to things, we forgot to simplify our lives to it, we do our routines as if nothing happens or I mean when things can be done smoothly — then why keep on dealing in hard stuff (ways).
On todays post, I’d like to highlight my favourite hacks the moment I decided to be a minimalist in my twenties. Hope you read them!
Doable Minimalist Life Hacks to Simplify Life
1. Clean as you go!
Cleaning our stuffs when we are done to is becomes my most favourite habit that I developed as I started my minimalism journey. Back then, I used to let things out especially doing dishes right after I eat, but when I choose to and decided to adapt this habit to accompany my lifestyle and of course to have more time on stuffs that I wanted to do, cleaning them out before doing other things, helped me the most. In fact, the less mess I made, the less stress my mind can tolerate.

2. Pay your bills ahead of time.
Who wants surprises? Of course we do, but bills? Nahh!
Becoming a minimalist put me in the shoe that I need to pay my bills in advance or on time coz I literally hate Judith (due-date, heheh filipinos used to use that word when bills are in about to due) it put myself in stress or in an anxietic level that may interupt myself to the things that I’m doing or creating. Aside from that, paying your bills on time or in advance will have your mind some freedom not to think about them. In fact, it is truly better to pay in advance especially electrical and water bills in advance or right after your bill receipt being send to avoid power and water outage.
3. Turn off notifications.
This hack probably be not my minimalist lifestyle discovery hack but this one is my most favourite thing to do whenever I install new applications on my phone coz I’ve been doing it the very first moment I bought my first touch screen phone way back 2015, I don’t know why I did that but it feels like I can’t focus to the things I’m doing when notification keeps popping on it, especially when I’m studying.
Edit: I also love the idea on how Nath says that she only enable to receive private messages and emails to have a peaceful life.
Simplifying things in life are probably be the one that gives me an amazing feeling I ever felt before. When I simplify things that I have, it feels like I am very much less, that I do have less burden to carry. Not to mention that I like simplify thing when it comes to my clothing on which I used basic and neutral color scheme for me to mix and match my style and add a little to minimal accessories. Of course when it comes to digital clutter I used to minimize them as much as possible such as deleting apps that I don’t normally use in order to lessen up space in storage. Not just apps when it comes to digital one but files also, especially that my classes are held online, some modules and other learning materials are stored in my Google Drive to have more space for other important things in my desktop and phone.
So, the last but not the least my very most favorite hack;
5. Quality over quantity.
Should I say Shop Wisely first? Kidding! Well before I love to buy cheap items cause I think I can save money to it, but then it was still a waste. Buying low quality items for the sake of price becomes a big No-no for me. I actually learned a hard lesson to that — in such a way this hack needs to be mentioned in this post.
What do you think about it? Do you have other life hacks too? Share them in the comment, I would love to know and learn from it.
